Shyam Novelty

Shyam Novelty is located at C 36, right by the Katargam Darwaja. This is a very busy part of town, so there is always something happening right outside our door. The Darwaja is a big landmark, and it brings in people from all over who are passing through. Our shop is just a small unit, but we try to make the most of it. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, filled with different novelty goods. You have to be careful when you reach for something high up. It is a bit of a challenge to keep everything organized when you have so many small items, but we do our best. The noise from the traffic and the vendors outside is constant, but it gives the place a lot of energy. We usually have a cup of tea in the morning before the first customers show up. Most of the people who stop by are just looking for a small gift or something for their home. We do not have a big team, just a couple of us working the shifts. It is a very manual process, from checking the stock to writing out the receipts by hand. We have been at this location for a while now and we know the other shopkeepers around the gate quite well. It is a tough way to make a living sometimes with the competition, but we keep the doors open every day.
