Shyam Gift & Jewellery

If you are over in Bharathinagar in Katargam, you'll find us right opposite the Mahavir Complex. We have been at this spot for some time, selling a mix of gift items and some jewellery pieces. It’s a bit of a small space, but we make it work by organizing everything as best as we can. Most days, it’s just us waiting for the regular customers from the neighborhood to stop by. We have some silver items and some imitation jewellery that people like to buy for weddings or just for wearing daily. People come in, look at the display cases, and we chat about what’s going on in the area. It’s a quiet life mostly, except when the festival times come around and then everyone is looking for something shiny to give as a gift. We don't really do much advertising, people just know we are here across from the complex. Sometimes the lights in the display cases act up and I have to fix them myself. We try to keep the shop clean, but with people coming and going, there’s always something to sweep up. It’s nice seeing the same faces every week. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around, just a place where you can get a nice ring or a gift without a lot of fuss. Katargam is a good place for a business like this and we plan to stay here.
