Shri Ganesh Cement Depo

Over at Shri Ganesh Cement Depo in Pandesara GIDC, the air is always a bit thick with dust. We are located right in the middle of the industrial estate, which makes sense for what we sell. Cement bags are heavy, and moving them is a workout that never ends. We have trucks coming in and out at all hours of the day. The warehouse is big and echoing, and we try to keep the stacks of bags neat so they don't fall over. I spend most of my time coordinating with the drivers and making sure the orders are correct. Pandesara is a tough area, very industrial and busy, so you have to be on your toes. My clothes are almost always grey by the end of the shift. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't; we just sell cement to people who need it for their construction sites. It is a very practical business. There is no air conditioning here, just big shutters that we leave open for the breeze. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because we have to keep everything dry. It’s a lot of physical labor and grit. We just keep at it day after day.
