Shree Mahalaxmi Fancy & Gift Centre

If you live near Madhuram Apartment in Bharthana, you’ve probably walked past us a few times. We are in unit U 4, right across from Vanijya Bhavan. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main market, but we get our fair share of people from the apartments nearby. The shop is full of fancy items and gifts, things that people grab when they realize they have a party to go to in an hour. We try to keep a bit of everything, but the space is small so it feels a bit tight when more than three people are inside at once. My cousin helps me out during the evenings when it gets a bit more active. We spend a lot of time just rearranging things to make more room. Sometimes the rain comes in a bit under the door when it’s heavy, so we have to be careful with the boxes on the floor. It’s a local place, nothing too special to look at, but we are here every day except for some holidays. We know most of the people who live in the building above us. They stop in to say hello or buy a small thing for their children. It’s nice being part of the neighborhood here. We don’t have any big corporate rules, we just run the shop how it makes sense for us and the people who shop here.
