Shree Khodiyar Super Store

At Shree Khodiyar Super Store, we stay pretty busy being on the Varachha Main Road in Surat. We are right in the Hariom Bapa Nagar area, opposite New Shakti Society. This part of Hira Baug is always moving, so there is never a quiet moment. We call it a super store, but it’s really just a place where we try to keep as many items as possible so people don’t have to go to five different shops. We have rows of snacks, household cleaners, and all the pantry staples. The floor is usually covered in some dust because of all the feet coming in and out from the main road. We spend a lot of time checking the dates on packets and restocking the milk fridge. It’s a lot of standing around and lifting heavy crates. Sometimes we get the orders wrong when we are talking to two people at once, but we fix it. We don't have any corporate training or uniforms. We just wear our regular clothes and talk to people like we’ve known them forever. The traffic on Varachha Main Road can be a nightmare for the delivery drivers, so sometimes our shelves look a bit thin until the truck arrives. We just do our best to keep the doors open and the lights on. It’s a simple life running a store in a crowded city like Surat, but it keeps us busy.
