Shivshakti General Store

Shivshakti General Store is what we call our shop over here in Udhna 10. It’s a straightforward kind of place without any unnecessary decorations. We sell mostly groceries and things for the home. You can see the sacks of grain sitting on the floor and the rows of bottled oils on the side. I’ve been working here for quite some time now, and I’ve seen the kids in the neighborhood grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own houses. The area in Udhna 10 is quite busy, so there is always some movement outside the door. I usually have a few stools for people to sit on if they are waiting for me to weigh out their flour or lentils. It’s not a fast process because the scales are old and I like to be careful with the measurements. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit when it’s on high, but it keeps the air moving during the hot months. We don't have any big signs or fancy posters on the walls. It’s just a shop where we sell what is needed. Sometimes my wife comes in to help when I have to go out to get more stock from the wholesalers. We keep the doors open from morning until late evening, just waiting for the next customer to walk in. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us busy and connected to the people around us.
