Satnam General Store

Satnam General Store is right here in Vandana Society on Shyamdham Road. We are in the Nana Varaccha part of Surat. I moved here and started this business because the area was growing. We carry a mix of groceries and some hardware bits too. It is a handy place for the people living in the society. They do not have to go all the way to the main market for small things. I spend most of my day sitting behind the wooden counter. It is dusty work sometimes because of the road construction nearby. My son helps out after he finishes his college classes. We have a lot of regular customers who come every week for their ration. I try to keep the stock fresh. If something sits on the shelf too long, I stop buying it. Surat is a fast city, everyone is in a hurry, but here in the society, things are a bit slower. People stop to chat for a minute before heading home. I do not have any big plans to expand or anything. I just want to keep the shop tidy and the shelves full. Sometimes the rains make the road messy, but we stay open. It is a basic shop for basic needs. That is how I have always run it and it seems to be fine for everyone.
