Riddhi Siddhi Kirana Store

I’ve been running this shop here on Palanpur Road for a good while now. Most people around Deepanjali Society know where we are because we’re right on the main stretch in Adajan Dn. It isn't a huge place, just a standard kirana store with stuff stacked up to the ceiling. We try to keep all the basic things like different kinds of rice, dals, and those big containers of oil that families need. Every morning starts the same way, unlocking the shutters and sweeping the front step before the first milk delivery shows up. Surat can get quite hot in the afternoons, so it usually gets quiet then, but the evenings are a different story. That’s when everyone comes home from work and realizes they forgot to buy something for dinner. I spend a lot of time just chatting with the neighbors while weighing out sugar or packing up some tea leaves. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late because of the traffic on the road, and we have to tell people to come back later for specific brands. It’s just how it goes in a small business. We don't have fancy lights or a computer system that works all the time, we just write things down and keep going. It feels good being part of the community here in Surat. People come to us for the basics, and that’s mostly what we focus on every day. It's a simple life behind the counter but it keeps us busy.
