About Praghai Kirana Shop – Food & Beverages in Surat
If you walk down Sachin Babulnath Road to S 5, you’ll find Praghai Kirana Shop. It’s a small place, but we pack a lot into it. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too high. There is always something to do, like weighing out pulses or stacking the new crates of soda. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. People just know the blue door. The space is a bit tight, especially when more than two people are inside at once. We’ve gotten used to squeezing past the bags of rice. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which we like. Most of our customers have been coming here since we first opened. We talk about the local news and how the kids are doing in school. It’s not just about selling things; it’s about being part of the street. We don't have a website or do any of that modern marketing. We just rely on people walking by. Sometimes we forget to update the prices right away, but we figure it out. It’s a very manual process, running a kirana shop. Your hands get dusty from the flour and the sacks. By the end of the day, we’re ready to close up and head home, but we’re always back the next morning. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve grown to appreciate over the years here on Babulnath Road. We hope to stay here for many more years as long as we can keep the shelves full.
