Om Patel Provision Stores

Om Patel Provision Stores is located in Adajan on the Dn 5th Main Road. We are quite close to the St Thomas Town Post office, specifically at building B 18. It is a classic grocery setup where we have sacks of rice and different kinds of pulses lined up near the front. People from the surrounding apartments come in throughout the day to pick up their daily necessities like oil, salt, or some biscuits for their kids. I usually stand behind the wooden counter and weigh out the items on the scale. The shop smells like a mix of spices and soap, which is typical for a provision store like ours. Sometimes the 5th Main Road gets a bit backed up with traffic, but our corner stays relatively manageable. We know most of our customers by their names because they have been coming to B 18 for years. It is a lot of repetitive work, like restocking the shelves and making sure the older milk packets are moved to the front, but it keeps us busy. My son helps with the home deliveries in the evening using his bicycle. We have a small calendar hanging on the wall where we mark down the credit for the regulars. It is not a supermarket by any means, just a local shop where you can get what you need for your kitchen without any fuss. We just try to stay open late enough for everyone.
