Numeric Power Systems

Working out of Laxmi Industrial Estate on the New Link Road in Andheri keeps us pretty busy. We deal with power systems, which mostly means moving around heavy batteries and looking at circuit boards. The traffic on Ring Road is always a mess, so getting parts delivered or sending things out takes longer than it should. Our space is filled with tools, wires, and units waiting to be looked at. It’s not the cleanest office because there’s always some project being taken apart on the main table. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to people about why their power backup isn't holding a charge. Sometimes the heat in the industrial estate gets to be a bit much, but we have a couple of fans going. It's mostly just three of us here handling the daily tasks. We have stacks of manuals and old components sitting in the corners that we really should clear out one day. People drop by with questions about voltages and capacities, and we just try to give them a straight answer based on what we see. The floor is concrete and gets cold in the monsoon, but it’s sturdy for the equipment. We've been in this building for a few years now and know the neighbors well. It’s a lot of testing and re-testing to make sure things work right. Every day there is a new pile of paperwork to deal with.
