Surat Transformers

Surat Transformers is located in Kamrej, specifically at the Ankur Vyapari Mahasangha in the 1st Lane of Gandhi Nagar, number 39. This is an area where a lot of heavy work gets done. You can hear the sound of metal and machinery all day long. Our workshop at number 39 is usually full of tools, copper wire, and big metal casings. It’s a dusty environment and our clothes usually end up pretty dirty by the end of the shift. Being part of the Vyapari Mahasangha means we are surrounded by other people who understand what it’s like to work with their hands. Gandhi Nagar is a busy place, and the 1st Lane can get quite cramped when trucks are trying to deliver materials. We spend a lot of time bent over workbenches, fixing things and making sure the connections are right. It’s technical work, but it’s also very physical. We don’t have a fancy office or a place for people to sit and have tea; we mostly just have the space we need for the transformers. The heat in Kamrej can be a lot in the summer, especially with the machines running, but we’re used to it. We’ve been at Surat Transformers for a while now, and we just focus on getting the repairs and the builds done right. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know, and we just keep at it every day.
