New Mahadev Novelty

The shop is at number 125, just near the Parvat Patiya Road. If you know the Nayak Nagar Society in Parvat, that is exactly where we stay most of the day. It is a busy spot. Most mornings start with opening the shutters and dusting off the shelves where we keep all the novelty items. People from the society walk past on their way to work or when they are taking the kids to school. It gets a bit dusty because of the road, so there is always cleaning to do. We’ve been here for a while, just handling the daily stuff that comes with a small shop like this. Sometimes it is quiet, and I just sit on the stool near the door watching the bikes go by toward the main road. Other times, three or four people come in at once looking for small things, maybe a gift or some hair clips or something for the house. It isn't a huge place, but it keeps us busy enough. The afternoon sun hits the front of the shop quite hard, so we usually pull the shade down a bit. It’s just a normal local business. We don't have fancy signs or anything like that. Just the name New Mahadev Novelty on the front and the stock we manage. Living and working around Parvat Patiya means you get to know the neighbors by face even if you don't know all their names. It’s just life here.
