Mayur Mandap

Mayur Mandap is located right on Surat Nizampura Main Road A 29. We do stuff for local gatherings and events. It is mostly poles, fabrics, and chairs. We spend a lot of time loading the van and driving to different spots around the city. The warehouse is packed with all sorts of decorations that we have collected over the years. Some of it is a bit dusty but we clean it up before it goes out. My uncle started this and now I help run things daily. It gets very busy during the wedding season. Sometimes we are working late into the night setting up tents or arranging the seating. Surat Nizampura Main Road A 29 is a good spot because everyone passes by it. We don't have a fancy showroom. People just come to the back and look at what we have in stock. The fabric colors sometimes fade in the sun so we have to replace things often. It is honest work. We get tired, but seeing a finished setup is okay. We don't use much technology, just a notebook to write down the dates and names. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes it hard to park the big trucks. We just deal with it. It's a family thing, really. We've been here a long time and know most of the people on this street. We sit outside when it's quiet and watch the cars go by. It’s just how we spend our days at the shop.
