We operate out of our space here in Surat at 12/1335. Most of the work happens outside the shop though, hauling poles and heavy fabrics to different sites for weddings or local functions. It’s physical work and can be quite tiring when the sun is beating down on us in the middle of the day. We spend a lot of time checking the condition of the curtains and making sure the metal frames aren't bent or rusted from the last job. Our place is often full of stacked chairs and bundles of cloth waiting to be loaded onto the truck for the next event. It isn't always perfectly organized, but we have a system that works for us. Usually, someone stops by to talk about an upcoming date they have planned, and we sit down with a glass of water to figure out the details of what they need. We’ve done setups for all sorts of gatherings around the neighborhood over the years. Sometimes the wind picks up and makes the big tents hard to manage, but that's just part of the job. We don’t have a big office or anything fancy, just this spot where we keep our gear and meet folks. It’s a family-run sort of thing, and we’ve been doing it long enough to know which colors look okay together and which don't. The storage area gets a bit dusty, but we try to keep the fabrics as clean as we can for everyone.
