Manshukhlal Modi

Manshukhlal Modi is the name on the door here at Nanpura Bhutdi Jhapa Main Road. We are up on the second floor, in room 202. It’s a busy part of Karelibaug, so there is always something going on outside the window. You can hear the scooters and the shouting from the market all day long. The office itself is pretty plain. We have a few desks, some chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of paper. We deal with whatever comes across the desk. It might be accounts, it might be coordinating things, it’s just the usual daily grind. We aren't trying to impress anyone with expensive furniture. We’d rather just get the paperwork finished and get home on time. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs. It keeps us moving, I guess. We know most of the other people in the building. We say hello in the hallway and maybe share a tea if things are slow. Karelibaug is a good area to be in because everything is close by. We’ve been here long enough that the postman doesn't even have to look at the number anymore. We just do our work, keep things organized as best we can, and try to stay out of the heat. It’s a very normal office life for us at 202. Nothing more and nothing less than that really.
