Mangal Kirana Stores

Mangal Kirana Stores is tucked away at Plot No 207 in Gali No - 3 of Subhash Nagar. We are in the Limbayat area of Surat, right near the Udhanayard and Mine Road. It is a bit of a walk into the lane, but people who live here know us well. I have been running this store for many years now. The space is filled with sacks of grain and rows of jars containing different types of biscuits and candies. It gets quite crowded inside when I have a lot of deliveries. My day starts very early before the sun is even up properly. I have to get the shop ready for the workers who pass by on their way to the factories or the yards. I sell the usual things people need for their kitchens like oil, salt, and various spices. The street outside can be quite dusty and noisy with all the bikes and carts going past. I don't have any big signs or neon lights. Just a simple board with the name. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise while I'm working, but it helps with the Surat heat. Most of my customers are my neighbors who have been living in Subhash Nagar as long as I have. We talk about the prices of things going up or how the weather is changing. It is a simple life and I just try to keep the shop running well every day for everyone.
