Mahendra Novelty

Mahendra Novelty is situated in the Patidar Jin Complex, right across from the Khedut Sangh and next to the ICICI Bank in the Old Sangavi area of Bardoli. It sounds like a lot of directions, but it’s actually a very easy place to find once you are on that side of town. The complex is always full of people coming and going from the bank or the other offices. Our shop is just a regular spot where we keep all sorts of novelty items. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, and we often have to use a shaky stool to reach the stuff on the top. We aren't trying to be a fancy boutique. We just sell things that people need or like to buy for gifts. The floor is made of plain cement, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for us. We spend our days unpacking boxes and talking to the people who walk in. Some days are slow and we just sit by the door and watch the rain or the traffic. Other days are so busy we barely have time to eat our lunch. We don't use any marketing tricks. We just show people what we have and tell them the price. It is a straightforward way to run a shop in Bardoli. We like being part of the noise here and serving the locals.
