Kalpana General Store

We run Kalpana General Store over in the Lalji Layout area of Parvat. Our spot is at number 26, right on the 2nd Cross and 2nd Main. It is a quiet residential part of town, so we know almost everyone who walks through the door. The shop isn't very large. We keep the essentials. Flour, spices, some sweets for the kids, and things like light bulbs or batteries. I usually spend the mornings restocking the shelves. The bread delivery comes in early, and then the milk. It is a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. I have got a small stool behind the counter where I sit when it is slow. We do not have any fancy displays. Just simple wooden shelves that my father put up years ago. They are a bit wobbly now, but they hold the weight just fine. The 2nd Cross can be a bit hard to find for outsiders, but for the people living in Lalji Layout, we are just around the corner. We do not have a website or do any social media stuff. That is not really for us. We just like talking to the neighbors and making sure they have what they need for dinner. Sometimes the cat from next door wanders in and I have to shoo him out so he doesn't get into the snacks. It is a plain, simple life running a shop like this. We just keep the doors open.
