Jay Khodiyar Cement Depot

We are located out on Dabholi Abbigere Road, right in the Kammagondana Halli area. This depot is mostly just a big open space where we keep the cement supplies out of the wet weather. The road outside can get pretty muddy when it rains, which makes moving the heavy bags a real challenge. We spend most of our day keeping track of what’s coming in and what’s going out to local construction sites. It’s a straightforward business without any bells or whistles. You won't find a fancy showroom here, just piles of grey sacks and a small wooden desk where I do the accounts. The air always has a bit of that dry cement smell to it. My clothes usually end up covered in dust by the time I head home in the evening. We have a few guys who help with the lifting because those bags are heavier than they look. It’s a lot of manual labor and making sure the trucks can get in and out of the gate without getting stuck. Sometimes the neighbors come by to borrow a tool or just to see how things are going. We’ve been at this Kammagondana Halli spot for a while, and we’ve seen the whole area change as more houses get built. It’s a noisy, busy place to work, but it keeps us moving and provides for the family.
