India Cement Works

India Cement Works is based out of Gotalawadi, specifically in the Suryvandna Apartment building. It might seem a bit odd to have a business like this in an apartment block, but it works for us. We spend most of our time dealing with the heavy stuff. Cement isn't something you can be delicate with. Our clothes usually have that grey dust on them by the end of the day. The neighbors in the building are used to us by now. We’ve been in unit B 2 for a long time. Gotalawadi is a busy area, lots of small businesses and families living side by side. We don't really have a big showroom or anything. Most of our work is done through phone calls and people we’ve known for decades. It’s a simple operation. We track orders, talk to the suppliers, and make sure the bags get where they need to go. In the rainy season, everything slows down because you can't really do much with cement when it’s pouring outside. So we just sit in the office and wait for the clouds to clear. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just show up every morning and do what we've always done. It’s a bit cramped with all the ledgers and samples lying around, but it feels like home. The tea guy knows exactly how we like our drinks, and that’s enough to keep us going. We just do the work and stay out of trouble.
