Gurukrupa General Store

Our little shop is located inside Samrat Apartment, right near the Rang Avdhut Char Rasta. Most folks around the Hira Baug area stop by when they’ve forgotten to buy something for their dinner or need a quick refill on milk. Gurukrupa General Store is a very local kind of place. We stock the usual items like different soaps, various pulses, and basic kitchen supplies. It’s honestly a bit crowded inside because we try to fit as many items as possible onto the wooden shelves we have. The Matawadi area is always on the move, but our store feels like a small quiet spot once you step through the door. We don't spend any money on big advertisements or anything. Most people find us just by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. Some days are quite slow and we just sit by the fan, while other times we have three people all asking for things at the same time. We try our best to remember what the people living in the apartments nearby like to buy. It isn’t like those big supermarkets where you use a trolley. You just tell us what you're looking for and we find it for you in the stacks. Working here means watching the neighborhood kids grow up over the years. It’s a steady and simple life for us. The fan hums a lot in the heat, but we’re used to it.
