You can find us on the first floor of Sumar Manzil, which is right across from the Furja Police Station in Chowk Bazar. Being in the heart of Surat means there is always something going on outside our windows. The sounds of the bazaar are constant, from the morning until late at night. Our hospital is a bit of a mix, handling both children’s health and various surgical needs. Dr. Feroz A Khan is usually around, moving between the exam rooms and the surgery area. The building is older, with high ceilings and that specific character you find in Chowk Bazar. We have a waiting area that gets quite loud when there are several families with kids all there at once. It’s a busy environment and we have to stay on our toes to keep everything moving along. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, but everyone manages fine. We try to keep the place as clean as we can, though with so many people coming in and out, it’s a constant job. There’s a lot of history in this part of town, and being located near the police station makes us a bit of a landmark for people nearby. We just focus on the patients and try to get through the schedule every day without too much fuss. It gets hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always on high. We just keep working through it.
