Modi Children Hospital

Being near the old bus stand means it’s always loud outside with all the traffic and people shouting. We’ve been running this hospital for the kids in the neighborhood for a long time. It’s a bit of a maze inside because we added rooms over the years as we needed them. You’ll see toys scattered around the waiting room, though half of them are missing pieces now. Kids get bored waiting, so we try to keep something for them to do. It’s not a quiet place, that’s for sure. There is always a baby crying or someone running down the hallway. We have a small staff and we all know each other well. Sometimes we run out of the good stickers, which the kids don't like. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to close down for that. Parents usually find us easily because of the location. It’s convenient if you’re coming in from out of town on the bus. We just do our best to get the little ones feeling better so they can go home. It’s tiring work but someone has to do it. We usually keep some crackers in the desk for the hungry ones. It can get pretty frantic during the flu season, but we manage to get through the day somehow.
