District Rural Development Agency

Our office for the District Rural Development Agency is over in Block No 9 of Krishananagar 1. It’s in the Ratanpar area of Surendranagar. This part of town is fairly quiet compared to the main center. We have a basic office setup here. It’s not very modern, but it does what we need it to do. We spend our days dealing with various development programs for the rural areas around the district. There is a lot of back-and-forth with different departments. You’ll see plenty of old ledgers and stacks of printed documents around the place. We don't really have a lot of high-tech equipment, just the essentials. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the office during the summer months, so we keep the windows open. The neighborhood around Krishananagar is mostly families and small shops. We know the people who live nearby. It feels very grounded here. We don't have any big mission statements on the walls. It’s just about getting the paperwork processed so the projects can keep going. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea. It’s a very simple existence in this office. Most of us have been working here for years and we know the routine like the back of our hands. We just handle the business and go home when the shift is done for the day.
