You will find Diamond Novelty Stores at 84 Main Road in the Pandesara area. It is a very busy part of town with lots of trucks and bikes passing by all the time. Because of the traffic, a bit of dust always manages to get inside the shop, so we spend a lot of time dusting off the boxes. We have a wide variety of items, from small trinkets to things people need for their homes. It’s not the most organized place in the world. Sometimes things get stacked up in piles, and we have to remember where we put the latest shipment. We don't use any fancy software to keep track of things. We just remember what we have or we walk around and look. The shop is quite narrow, so you have to be careful not to knock anything over with your bag. We open up pretty early in the morning when the tea stalls nearby are just starting. Most of our customers are workers from the area who need something on their way home. We don't talk like salesmen. We just tell you the price and see if you want it. It’s an honest way to spend the day. The noise from the main road is constant, but after a few years, you just stop hearing it.
