Dhan Varsha Provision Store

Dhan Varsha Provision Store is right in the middle of Pandesara MIDC 7. Because we are in an industrial zone, our day is a bit different from a regular residential shop. We get a lot of workers who are looking for something quick to eat or some tobacco. We also have the usual grocery items for the families that live in the worker quarters nearby. The trucks are always rumbling past on the road, so there’s a lot of dust that we have to wipe off the jars every morning. It’s a functional place. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because people just want to get their things and go. We have large sacks of grain sitting on the floor because we sell a lot of it by the kilo. The scale we use is an old one, but it works fine. Sometimes the electricity goes out in this part of the city, and we have to use a flashlight to find things in the back. It makes the day interesting. We stay open pretty late to catch the guys coming off the late shift. It’s a tough area, but the people are hardworking and honest. We’ve been here for a long time and we’ve seen the factories change hands, but our store stays pretty much the same. It’s just a steady part of the landscape here in the industrial estate.
