Chaudhary Subhash

My name is Chaudhary Subhash and you can find me over at 185 Udhna. We are situated right behind the Udhana Yard, which means there’s a lot of activity with the trains and the loading going on nearby. If you are coming from the other side, we are pretty much opposite Vinodbanagar Society. It’s an area where people are always working hard. The noise from the yard is something you just stop noticing after a few weeks of being here. I’ve been at this spot for a long time now. The building is older, and the paint might be peeling a bit in the corners, but it serves its purpose just fine. I start my day by checking what needs to be done and maybe talking to the guys nearby. The road outside can get quite muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the floors during the monsoon. It’s a practical place for a practical kind of life. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. Most of the people who come by are local workers or residents from the society across the way. We share a bit of news and then get back to what we were doing. I like that it’s a bit away from the main city rush, even if the yard stays busy. It feels like a real community where everyone is just trying to earn their living. That’s about all there is to tell about us.
