Bhavsar Decorators

In Adajan Dn, there are a lot of shops, but you’ll find Bhavsar Decorators tucked away where we keep all our supplies. We have piles of fabric, stacks of chairs, and various decorative items that we use for different events around town. It’s a bit crowded inside because we need a lot of space for the tents and the lighting equipment. My family has been doing this kind of work for a long time. It’s not easy work, especially when we have to set everything up early in the morning or late at night. The Adajan area has grown so much since we first started. Now there’s more traffic and more noise, but we’ve stayed in this same general location. When you walk in, you might see us sorting through strings of lights or cleaning the flower vases. It’s a lot of manual labor that people don’t always see. We don’t spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty on the internet. We’re usually busy with our hands, making sure the cloth is ironed or the poles are sturdy. Most of our day is spent loading and unloading trucks. Sometimes the weather makes it hard, like during the monsoon when we have to worry about everything getting wet. We just keep moving and do the work that needs doing. It's a simple life here in this part of Surat, just keeping the shop running.
