Bhavani Provision & General Stores

Our shop is located on Ved Road 2. It is a part of Surat where a lot of people live and work nearby. We have all the usual things you might need like flour, soaps, and different kinds of snacks. My family helps out a lot with the daily work here. It is a small space, so things can get a bit cluttered and messy sometimes. We try to organize the pulses and spices in the jars so they are easy for everyone to find. Some days are very slow, especially when it is very hot in the afternoon and nobody wants to walk outside. Then in the evening, the street comes alive and everyone comes out to shop. We have been here for a good amount of time now. Most people know us as the local place to get their monthly groceries. We do not do any big advertising or anything like that. Word of mouth from our neighbors is enough for us. If the specific brand of rice you want is not there, we usually have something else that is similar. We handle everything ourselves, from unloading the heavy sacks to cleaning the glass jars. It is hard work but it keeps us busy through the day. The street outside is usually full of noise from kids playing or neighbors talking. We like being a part of this community. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use candles. It is just a normal shop on a normal street.
