Bharti Materials

Bharti Materials is Shop No. 3 in the Somnath Apartment, which is part of the Sundarvan Society in Punagam. We are located right near the Nachiketa High School, so we see a lot of kids and parents passing by every morning and afternoon. This is a materials shop, so things can get a bit messy with all the stock we have to keep. We deal with various items that people need for building or fixing things around their homes in the Varachha area. It’s a lot of lifting and moving bags or boxes, so it keeps us on our feet all day. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be very careful about how we stack things so we don't run out of room. I’ve lived around Punagam for a long time, so I know a lot of the families who live in the society. People usually come in knowing exactly what they need, and we just get it for them. We don't have any fancy sales tactics or anything like that. We just tell people what we have in stock and what it costs. Sometimes we run out of certain items and have to wait for the truck to come from the main supplier. It’s a simple, honest business. We open early and close when the sun goes down, just like most of the other shops in the neighborhood. It is hard work but it is a good life.
