Our place is over in Bahuchar Nagar, specifically at JG 45 in Surat. It is a busy neighborhood, like most parts of this city. Arpan Graphic has been operating out of this ground-floor spot for a while. You can usually hear the hum of the machines if you stand near the door. It’s not a huge space, so we have to keep things organized or it gets crowded quickly. The light in Surat is usually very bright, which helps when we are looking at colors and prints on the paper. We have some shelves stacked with different materials we use daily. Sometimes the neighbors come by to chat for a minute while we work. The street JG 45 is located on isn't very wide, so it can be a bit of a squeeze when a delivery truck comes through. We’ve lived and worked in Surat for a long time, so we know the rhythms of the area well. There is a lot of dust in the summer, so we have to wipe down the equipment every morning before we start. It’s a routine that keeps things running. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the address. People who need us usually know where to find the building. It’s just a honest day's work here in Bahuchar Nagar, making sure the graphics look right before they go out. We stay pretty busy from morning until late evening.
