Ambica Watch & Gift

Our shop, Ambica Watch & Gift, is situated on Varachha Road, and if you know the Somnath Hotel, you know exactly where we are because we are very close to it. This part of town is always moving and there is rarely a quiet moment on the street outside. We have been here for a good amount of time now, dealing with all kinds of watches and little gift items that people like to buy for weddings or festivals. The shop interior is a bit old-fashioned with wooden cabinets and glass tops that have a few scratches on them from years of use. We don't mind that much because it shows the place has been used. During the day, the sun hits the front window quite hard, so we have a small curtain we pull across to keep the watches from getting too hot. People from the neighborhood pop in mostly for watch repairs or to get a new belt for their wrist. We have a lot of regular customers who stop by just to say hello while they are out getting their groceries. It is a small business and we handle everything ourselves, from opening the shutters in the morning to locking up late at night. Varachha Road is a tough place for parking, so most of our visitors come on foot or park their bikes right on the edge of the pavement. It’s just how things go around here.
