Sundargarh Metal Industries

Our workshop is at No. 23 in the Interior Industrial Area, right on the Main Road. Being in an industrial zone means it is always noisy around here. You can hear machines running and trucks moving all day long. Sundargarh Metal Industries has been part of this area for a long time. The building is a large shed-like structure that lets in a lot of light during the day. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but that’s the reality of working with metal. We have heavy equipment taking up most of the floor space. There is always a smell of grease and burnt metal in the air. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a small corner partitioned off with some glass where we keep the computer and the files. Most of our day is spent on the floor making sure things are being cut and shaped correctly. We wear heavy boots and clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. It is hard work and our hands are usually stained by the end of the shift. We aren't a big corporation with lots of managers. It is just a few of us who know how to handle the machines. People come to us because they know we get the job done without any excuses or fancy talk. We just focus on the metal and the orders we have to finish for the day.
