We are based at Plot No.70/10 in the Jagda-Jhirpani area of Rourkela. This is in the Sundergarh district of Orissa, pin code 769042. Steel Casting And Manufacturing Unit is exactly what the name says. It’s a shop floor where we do the actual work. It’s not a polished corporate office. The floors are concrete and there’s always some soot or metal shavings around. Rourkela is a steel town, so we fit right in here. The weather can get incredibly humid, making the workshop feel like a sauna sometimes. We just keep the big industrial fans going. We don't have a marketing department. We don't even have a glossy sign. Most of our work comes from long-time contacts in the industry. We handle the casting and manufacturing day in and day out. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to scramble to get parts, but that's just part of the life here. We aren't fancy people. We eat our lunch together in the small break area and talk about local news or the weather. It’s a straightforward way to live and work. We don't make big promises we can't keep. We just take the orders, do the manufacturing, and ship them out when they are ready. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time. We try to keep the place organized, but with all the heavy metal moving around, it's a bit of a challenge most days.
