Jindal Steel Power Limited

Up here in Tensa, things move a bit differently. We are tucked away in Sundargarh district, surrounded by hills and a lot of green. Being at this Jindal Steel Power Limited spot means we are busy from sunrise. The air is different here than in the big cities. We spend most of our time dealing with the raw materials and the big equipment. It's a lot of manual stuff mixed with operating the heavy gear. Sometimes the roads get tricky when it rains heavy, but we still make it to the post office and back. My neighbor has been working at this spot for twenty years. We share tea during the mid-day break and talk about what needs fixing next. The plant is a huge part of life in this village. You can hear the sounds of the work from quite a distance away. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. It's just a group of people making sure the steel gets processed. Some of us live right nearby, so the walk to work isn't too bad. We deal with the heat from the machines and the cold mornings in the winter. It’s steady work. We focus on the tasks we are given and try to get through the list before the sun goes down. Tensa is a small place, so everybody knows who works where. We just keep our heads down and do what we are supposed to do.
