Ifgl Refractories Limited

Our setup is over in Sector A of the Kalunga Industrial Estate. It’s in the Sundergarh district, out near P.O. Kalunga. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by other businesses, but we have our own way of doing things. We work with refractories, which isn't the most glamorous job, but it is necessary for the plants around here. The building is large enough to hold all the heat-resistant materials we manage. It can get pretty warm in the afternoons, especially in the warehouse. We’ve got a group of workers who have been with us for a long time. We don't have a big corporate feel even though the name sounds a bit formal. It’s mostly just us trying to keep up with the demand from the steel mills and other factories. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the bricks and liners we get in. If something isn't right, we have to fix it before it goes out. The roads around here can be rough, so getting deliveries in and out takes some planning. We aren't doing anything revolutionary. We just provide the materials that keep the furnaces running. It’s hard work, but we’re used to it by now. We just take it day by day and try to keep things running smooth. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out.
