We are based out of Musafir Khana in Sultanpur. Most of us here have been working the land for a long time. Ram Deen Thauri helps keep things organized at his place in Thaur. It's a small operation, really. We call ourselves Thauri Kisan Unnati Producer Company Limited because we wanted to see some progress for the local farmers around here. Farming in Uttar Pradesh has its ups and downs with the weather and the prices. We sit together and figure out which crops to plant or where to get better fertilizers. There isn't any fancy marketing here. It's just neighbors talking to neighbors. Sometimes we meet up after the day's work is done. The address is in Sultanpur, zip code 227815. You won't find a big shiny sign outside, just a normal house where the business is registered. We spend most of our time out in the fields anyway. There is a lot of mud and hard work involved. We just want to get a decent price for what we grow. It’s a group effort, and we’re just regular folks from the village trying to keep the traditions alive while making a bit of a living.
