Aram Pora Bota Kadal is where you’ll find Eagle Crafts. It’s not a big sign you see from far away. You have to know where you’re going. The area is full of people who make things. We are just one of many. Our space is crowded with materials and finished items. There isn't much room to walk around, but we know where everything is. If you ask for a specific tool, I can find it in seconds even if it looks like a mess to you. We work six days a week. Sunday is for resting. The work can be hard on the back, so we take breaks and stretch. We talk about the news or what’s happening in the neighborhood while we work. It’s a social thing as much as a job. The name Eagle was just something that sounded strong when we started. It doesn't mean much more than that. We don't spend money on advertising. We just hope people like what we make. Sometimes the winter gets very cold, and we have to wrap up in heavy clothes to keep our fingers moving. We don't complain much. It’s just the way it is here in Bota Kadal. We’ve got a routine and we stick to it. Every evening, we shut the heavy doors and walk home through the quiet streets. It’s a good way to live.
