If you head down toward Guta Pora in Amda Kadal, you will find us tucked away. We are pretty close to the Airtel Tower in Lal Bazar, which is usually how we tell people to find the place. Kawoosa Arts And Crafts is really just a local workshop where we spend our hours working on different pieces. It is not a shiny showroom. The floors are often covered in scraps and the tools are well-used. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time and everyone around here knows what we do. The building is an old one, typical for this part of town. Sometimes it gets a bit chilly in the winter, but we just keep working. We make various arts and crafts items, mostly by hand. It’s a slow process and we don’t rush things just to get them finished. Each day starts with a cup of tea and a look at what needs to be carved or assembled next. Being near the tower makes it easy for deliveries to spot us, which is helpful. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Lal Bazar. We just like what we do and we stay busy with the orders that come in from the local community and beyond. It’s a humble setup, but it works for us. We just keep our heads down and focus on the craft, making sure things look and feel the way they are supposed to. It is the only way we know how.
