Our small office is tucked away in Sanjay Colony, right near the Vishnu Baal School. If you are around when the school bell rings, it gets very loud with all the kids running about, but it makes the place feel alive. We handle spices and various food items here. You can usually tell what we are working on just by the smell in the air when you walk in. It is not a very big space, just a few rooms where we keep the bags and do the counting. The floors are concrete and can get a bit cold in the winter months. We have a desk for the computer and a few chairs for when people stop by to chat. It is a very basic operation. We don't have any big signs or fancy decorations on the walls. Mostly, it is just piles of sacks and some ledgers we use to keep track of everything. The family of Shera Devi and Kesharam Jaat has been around a long time, and we just try to keep things moving along steadily. The afternoon sun hits the front window pretty hard, so we usually keep the curtains drawn to stay cool. It is just a regular job for us. We aren't trying to do anything groundbreaking, just making sure the spices get to where they need to go without too much fuss. Most days are pretty much the same, but we like the routine and the people we see.
