Barista

I start the day early here at the Barista shop on Rz-F-769/14/3. It’s a busy corner in New Delhi 110045. Most mornings, I’m just trying to get the machine warmed up before the first few people walk in. It’s not a fancy setup, but the stools are comfortable enough and the light comes through the front glass pretty nicely in the afternoon. We spend a lot of time cleaning the counters and making sure the milk is fresh. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when everyone is talking at once, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. I’ve lived around here for years, so I know a lot of the faces that come through the door. It isn't just about the drinks, it's more about having a place where you can sit for a minute and not be bothered. We keep things pretty simple. If the coffee is hot and the person behind the counter says hello, most people are happy. We don't have a big corporate team here, just a few of us who show up and do the work. The address is easy to find if you know the neighborhood. We just keep the floor swept and try to make sure nobody has to wait too long for their order. It’s a job, but it’s a good one because of the people we see every day. The coffee smells good and the place is warm in the winter, which is enough for me.
