Indian Weaves

Indian Weaves is over at B 95/1 in the Naraina Industrial Area, Phase I. If you know this part of town, you know it’s mostly just warehouses and factories. Our building is one of those plain grey ones that looks like everything else on the block. Inside, though, it’s a different story. We have stacks of fabric everywhere you look. It’s mostly cotton and various weaves that we get in from different places. The air always smells a bit like raw cloth and thread. We don't have a showroom here, so don't expect any fancy displays. It is mostly just long tables for cutting and inspection. The machines run for most of the day, making a steady humming sound that you stop noticing after an hour or two. We have a small crew and many of them have been with us since we started. We eat lunch together in the back area where it’s a bit quieter. Some days are stressful when there’s a big order to finish, and the floor gets covered in scraps and loose threads. We clean it up at the end of the shift, but by the next morning, it’s back to being a mess. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don't spend money on decor or branding because that doesn't help us handle cloth better. We just stay here in Naraina and do what we do every day.
