Bakshi Gift

Our shop is tucked away at 976/7 in Mehrauli. If you know the area, you know how these narrow streets are. Bakshi Gift has been here for a good amount of time now. Mehrauli has so much history around every corner, and being part of this local patch feels alright. We mostly have small things that people like to give as presents. It could be for a birthday or just because. The shop is small, so we have to use every bit of wall space to hang things up. Every morning we sweep the front and get the displays ready. You see the same faces walking by every day to the nearby markets. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stand, but people find us anyway. We don't really do much big talk. We just show what we have on the shelves. Sometimes someone comes in looking for something specific, and other times they just browse around. It gets a bit dusty with all the construction nearby, so we are always cleaning the boxes. Life in Mehrauli moves at its own pace, and we just follow along with it. It’s a simple setup, really. Just a local gift shop at number 976/7. We stay open until late because that’s when most of the families come out for a walk after dinner. It's just a regular part of the neighborhood. We keep things basic and just focus on the daily tasks. It is what it is.
