Being in Okhla Phase I means dealing with heavy traffic every single morning. Yantrika Instruments is located in the Dsidc Complex at plot 186. It is a busy hub with many different small factories and offices all squeezed together. We work with various types of instruments here. Our space is split between a small assembly area and the main office. It feels a bit cramped because we have many components stored in boxes against the walls. We do not have a big corporate lobby or a receptionist at the front. Usually one of us just looks up from a desk when someone walks through the door. The air conditioning works most of the time which is a big relief during the Delhi summer. We spend a lot of time looking at tiny parts and making sure the settings are right. It is quiet work compared to the heavy metal shops nearby. We have a small team and we have all been together for many years. We know each other well and how we like our tea in the afternoon. The complex itself is quite old and the stairs can be a bit of a climb if the lift is busy. We do not put on a show for anyone who visits. If you come by you will see us in our regular clothes surrounded by wires and manuals. We just try to get the instruments sorted and sent out on time. (248 words)
