Uma Shankar International

Uma Shankar International is tucked away in the lower ground floor at K-55B in Kalkaji. If you are walking through the lanes of Kalkaji, you have to look for the K block and then find our building. Being on the LGF means it stays a bit cooler than the upper floors, which is nice during the Delhi summers. The entrance is just a short flight of steps down from the street level. It is a residential-cum-commercial area, so you have the usual sights and sounds of a busy neighborhood. There are delivery bikes zooming past and neighbors chatting outside. The space inside is cozy and we have it set up for our daily tasks. It is not a massive corporate office, just a practical spot where we can focus. Sometimes it gets a bit dark because we are below the main street level, so we keep the lights on all day. We have our files and computers arranged in a way that works for us. Living and working in Kalkaji means you are never far from a good place to grab some food or a cup of chai. We usually take our lunch breaks together and talk about whatever is going on. It is a relaxed atmosphere, and we don't worry too much about being formal. We just want to get the work done and head home. It is a decent place to spend our working hours.
