Sujit Barik

I am Sujit Barik and I am based in Room No.-12 at 108/A in Katwariasarai. This is in New Delhi, zip code 110016. If you know Katwariasarai at all, you know it is a very crowded place filled with students and small businesses. My room is small, but it’s where I get everything done. It is a bit of a tight squeeze with all my books and papers, but I make it work for me. I’ve been here for a while now. The building is old and the stairs are narrow and dark. It’s not the kind of place you see in a magazine or a fancy brochure. It’s just a practical spot for me to stay and do my work. I don’t have an office staff or anyone to help. I do all the cleaning, the typing, and the organizing myself. Sometimes the noise from the street is a lot to handle, but you get used to the sounds of Delhi after living here. I usually start my day with a cup of tea from the stall downstairs. Then I just sit at my desk and go through what I have to do. I don’t use any complicated systems or apps. I just have a few folders and a blue pen. It is a very basic way to run things, but it works fine. I don’t try to pretend to be a big firm with many employees. I’m just Sujit, working out of Room 12. That’s the reality of my life here in Delhi.
