Shokin Tools

Our place, Shokin Tools, is over in Okhla. You have to look for the N-4 spot in the Namber Dar Apartments. We are on the first floor in the Joga Bai part of the neighborhood. It’s a bit of a maze back here sometimes but the locals know the way. We’ve been keeping this shop running for a bit now, mostly focusing on all kinds of hand tools and bits and pieces people need for repairs. The office isn't very big, and we have boxes stacked up in the corners quite often. It gets a little dusty because of all the metal and the construction work happening nearby in Okhla. We start early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. People usually drop by because they broke something and need a replacement right away. We don't do much talking except to explain how a certain wrench works or why a particular drill bit is better for the job. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure everything is in its place. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to stay back to sort through the crates. It’s just how it goes in this line of work. We know most of the regulars by their first names now. It feels like a small community even though the city is so huge outside our door. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
