Shiv Kumar Singh

My place is down in the Canal Colony, right near the Okhla Head Works. It’s a specific part of Jamia Nagar that has its own feel to it. I’ve been at N/C-27 for quite some time now. It’s an older area of New Delhi, and you can tell by the buildings and the way the roads are laid out around the colony. I set this up because I knew the area well and wanted to be part of the local scene. It’s not a flashy business at all. We don’t have glass walls or expensive furniture. It’s mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of hard work getting done by Shiv Kumar Singh and the team. The walk over from the main road isn't too bad, though it gets quite dusty in the summer heat. I usually spend my mornings getting things ready before anyone else shows up. My team is small, just a few local guys who know their way around the streets. We deal with whatever comes our way. Sometimes the water supply is a bit iffy, or the street gets blocked by a delivery truck, but that’s just how it is here. I like the fact that I can walk to most places I need to go. It’s a grounded life. We don’t make big promises we can’t keep. We just show up every day and do what’s expected of us. It’s a simple operation in a busy part of town.
