Nikhil Trade & Exports is based out of Lajpat Nagar, at 120/843. If you’ve been to this part of town, you know it’s always crowded and there’s always something going on. Our office is pretty small, and it’s usually overflowing with samples and documents. We don’t have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. You just walk in and you’ll likely see me or one of the guys sitting at a desk covered in papers. We spend most of our time coordinating between different suppliers and people who need goods moved. It’s a lot of coordinating and sometimes things get a bit chaotic. But we’ve been doing this long enough that we know how to fix problems when they pop up. We don’t use a lot of big words or try to act like we’re a multinational firm. We’re just a trading house in a busy neighborhood. Some days are slow, and we just sit and talk about the news, but then a big shipment comes in and everyone is working late. We’ve got a few regular drivers who know exactly where to park, which is good because parking in Lajpat Nagar is a nightmare. It’s just a practical way to earn a living. We keep track of the boxes and make sure they get to where they’re supposed to go. It’s simple enough when you get the hang of it. No frills, just business.
